Genuine Self-Care Isn’t Just Fluff – It’s a Rebellion!

The Self-Care Myth That’s Keeping You Stuck

We’ve been sold a watered-down version of self-care. The kind that looks good on Instagram—sunset walks with your dog, yoga classes and a quiet cup of tea. And while those things have their place (🙋🏻‍♀️Count me in for yoga, meditation & peppermint tea), they don’t touch the deeper work of true self-care.

Because real self-care? It’s not always warm and fuzzy. It’s not always easy. And it sure as hell isn’t always pretty.

Real self-care is a rebellion against the status quo, the expectations, the exhaustion, and the invisible rulebook that tells you to put yourself last. It’s a refusal to keep running on empty. A decision to put your well-being above all else.

So if you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or wondering why bubble baths aren’t fixing the problem, here’s the truth: self-care isn’t just about rest and relaxation. It’s about self-leadership.

Burnout Isn’t Just Exhaustion—It’s a Red Flag

A few years ago, I was at the depths of burnout. For me, burnout didn’t just creep in—it took over. I wasn’t just exhausted, I was numb. I felt disconnected from myself, from the things I used to love, from the life I had built. I kept pushing through, thinking that if I could just get through this week, finish this project, make it to the weekend, I’d feel better.

But I didn’t. Because burnout wasn’t a problem I could outwork—it was a wake-up call I needed to answer. Burnout wasn’t just about being tired. It was a full-body, full-soul shutdown. It was my system waving a white flag, screaming something has to change!

The hardest part wasn’t admitting I was burnt out. It was…realizing that the burnout I was experiencing wasn’t just about my job—it was about my entire life.

The way I was constantly putting myself last, the way I ignored my own needs, the way I was living on autopilot instead of actually being alive.

What Real Radical Self-Care Looks Like (Hint: It’s Not Cute)

Once I realized I needed real radical self-care—not just a break, but a rebirth of sorts—I had to unlearn everything I thought I knew. Because true self-care? It’s not a checklist. It’s not a one-time act. It’s a way of leading yourself into a rebellion. I say a rebellion because you care so f*cking deeply about yourself that nothing else matters. No guilt. No apologies necessary.

Real radical self-care looks like:

Setting boundaries that make other people uncomfortable but bring you peace.
Saying no to what drains you, even when you feel guilty.
Walking away from relationships, habits, and environments that are no longer aligned.
Honoring your energy without apologizing for it.
Tuning into your intuition and actually trusting what it’s telling you.

It’s not just about adding things to your life—it’s about removing what no longer serves you. And sometimes? That’s the hardest part.

The First 3 Things I Stopped Doing to Take My Power Back

One of the biggest shifts I made wasn’t in what I added to my life, but in what I let go of. Here are three things I stopped doing that changed everything:

🔥 1. People-Pleasing – I stopped saying yes when I meant no. I stopped prioritizing other people’s comfort over my own well-being. I stopped living for validation instead of alignment.

🔥 2. Living on Autopilot – I chose to wake up, to reconnect with myself, my higher power, and to live with intention. No more numbing. No more mindlessly going through the motions. I started making decisions that actually felt like mine.

🔥 3. Doubting Myself – I used to second-guess every instinct, every idea, every feeling. But my intuition had been right all along. Now? I listen to it. I trust it. I lead with it.

Letting go of these things wasn’t easy. But the moment I did? I began to get my energy, my clarity, and my life back.

Self-Care Is a Revolution—Are You In?

If you are feeling an inkling. The nudges that things are pretty shitty right now and that they need to change. Hear me when I say it, THIS is your wake up call! The Universe is telling you, to take your power back. To rewrite the rules. To stop waiting for permission to live the life you actually want.

This is your invitation to the Soul-Led Rebellion—where self-care isn’t just about self-soothing, but self-leadership. Where you put yourself first without apology. Where you stop living for others and start living for yourself.

Because you weren’t born for this... You were born for so much more.
