Tired of Being Tired? Let’s Talk About Life Burnout (Because It’s So Much More Than Work Stress)
In 2019, I woke up in the middle of the night to a voice so loud and clear, it was impossible to ignore.
"You can’t live this life anymore."
Whether it was my angels, my guides, or my own soul shouting to be heard — I got the message. Loud and clear.
I knew I was deeply unhappy at work. The burnout was undeniable. But when I looked at my life with honesty (the kind that stings and frees you all at once), I realized it wasn’t just work. I was unhappy everywhere.
I was numbing with alcohol. I was surviving, not thriving. My connection with my family, my friends — even myself — was so faint it almost disappeared. I didn’t know who I was anymore, or what I even wanted. That night cracked me open and started a journey of remembering. Remembering me.
Who was I now?
What was working in my life — and what wasn’t?
What were my dreams?
What kind of life did I actually want to live?
And what did I value now — not 10 years ago, not the version of me I thought I had to be — but the woman I was becoming?
That night taught me something I’ll never forget —
burnout doesn’t just live at work. It can quietly take over your whole life.
What Is Life Burnout?
Life burnout is what happens when you’ve been carrying too much, for too long, in every corner of your life. It’s what happens when your days feel like an endless loop of giving, pleasing, fixing, and running — until there’s nothing left for you.
It’s not just work stress. It’s a disconnection from yourself, your joy, your purpose — and your truth.
Common Signs of Life Burnout
I know how sneaky burnout can be — and how often we brush it off, thinking it’s “just a rough patch.” Here’s what to watch for:
☁️ You feel exhausted even after a full night’s sleep.
☁️ You snap at your kids or partner — even though you don’t mean to.
☁️ You feel disconnected from your friends — and yourself.
☁️ You numb out with food, alcohol, scrolling, or busyness.
☁️ You feel resentful about the life you’re living — even the parts you used to love.
☁️ Joy feels like a distant memory, and rest doesn’t feel restful.
☁️ You wonder, “Is this just how life is now?”
You Don’t Have to Live This Way Anymore
If I was sitting across from you, holding a cup of tea in my hands, I’d look you in the eye and say this:
"You don’t have to live this life the way it is anymore. You have a choice to change your life. It’s time to dig deep and take action towards the life you truly want and deserve. It’s just a decision away — and lots of soul-aligned action."
That’s what I want you to know — there is hope. You are not stuck. It’s never too late to choose yourself again.
Your First Soulful Step
The very first step — the one that changes everything — is this: acknowledge where you are and commit to change.
That’s it. Not a perfect plan. Not a 12-step checklist. Just a brave, honest moment where you say:
"This isn’t working anymore. I deserve better. And I’m ready to find out what better looks like for me."
Gentle, Soulful Steps to Begin
💛 Witness Your Truth — Before fixing or changing anything, simply see yourself. How are you really feeling? Write it down. Say it out loud. Let the truth breathe.
💛 Release the Pressure — You don’t have to be everything to everyone. Where can you soften? What can you let go of — even for now?
💛 Tiny Acts of Self-Remembrance — When you’re burnt out, self-care can feel impossible. So start small. One song that makes you feel alive. One breath of fresh air. One moment of stillness.
💛 Reconnect with Your Dreams — If nothing was off-limits, what would you love your life to look and feel like? Don’t worry about how — just remember what lights you up.
💛 Ask for Support — This journey isn’t meant to be walked alone. Reach out to someone who can hold space for you — a friend, a coach (like me), a mentor. Someone who can remind you who you are when you forget.
💛 Let Your Values Lead — One of my biggest lessons was reconnecting with my values. What truly matters to you now — not what mattered to you years ago, or what you think you should care about, but the values that feel like home to your soul today.
You Are Worth the Life You Long For
Writing this, my heart feels tender because I know what it’s like to be there — stuck in a life that feels too small, too heavy, too far from who you really are.
But please believe me when I say this: you are not broken, and you are not alone.
If you’re feeling the tug to explore this more, I’ve created a free checklist to gently guide you through it:
